What to say upon receiving pleasing or displeasing news
It is reported that when pleasing news reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would say:
"Praise be to Allah, by whose grace good deeds are completed."
[Ibn Majah 3803; Sahih al-Jami‘ as-saghir 4640]
