Author's Preface

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious to all in this world and especially Merciful to the believers in the hereafter.

All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help and forgiveness, and seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and the consequences of our bad deeds. Whomever Allah guides, no one can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, who has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. May Allah bless him, his family, his companions, and all who follow them with a pure heart until the Day of Resurrection, and grant them peace abundantly.

Furthermore: the books presented here primarily contain the texts (matns) of hadiths, indicating the source or sources from which they were taken. I hope that these books will benefit all those who read them.

¹Each hadith consists of two parts: the isnād — the listing of the names of people who transmitted the report to one another, and the matn — the report of what the Prophet ﷺ said or did, i.e. the informational part of the hadith which rests on the isnād.
