Types of goodness and good etiquette

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not belittle any good deed, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face." [Muslim 2626].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever invites to guidance shall have a reward equal to those who follow him, without their rewards being diminished in any way; and whoever invites to misguidance shall bear the sin equal to those who follow him, without their sin being diminished in any way." [Muslim 2674].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever revives a Sunnah of mine that has fallen into disuse after me will have a reward like those who act upon it, without decreasing their reward in the least. And whoever introduces an innovation of misguidance that is not pleasing to Allah and His Messenger will bear a sin equal to those who act upon it, without diminishing their burden in the least." [at-Tirmidhi 2677; Sahih Sunan at-Tirmidhi 2/33].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best of you are those with the best character." [al-Bukhari 3559; Muslim 2321].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or be silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him treat his neighbour kindly. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him treat his guest kindly." [al-Bukhari 6018; Muslim 47].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If three of you are together, let not two converse apart from the third until you join other people, for that would grieve him." [al-Bukhari 6290; Muslim 2184].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Truly Allah loves gentleness; and for gentleness He grants what He does not grant for harshness or for anything else." [Muslim 2593].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The believer who mixes with people and is patient with their harm is better than the believer who does not mix with people and is not patient with their harm." [at-Tirmidhi 2507; Ibn Majah 4032; Sahih al-Jami‘ as-saghir 6651].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Your smile at your brother is a sadaqa." [at-Tirmidhi 1956; Sahih Sunan at-Tirmidhi 2/230].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "May Allah have mercy on a man who is lenient when he sells, when he buys, and when he asks for repayment of a debt." [al-Bukhari 2076].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best of you is the one who is best to his family; and I am the best of you to my family." [at-Tirmidhi 3895; Ibn Majah 1977; Sahih Sunan at-Tirmidhi 3/245].

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Actions are but by intentions, and every person shall have only that which he intended." [al-Bukhari 1; Muslim 1907].
