How good and bad deeds are recorded

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَمُسْلِمٌ فِي «صَحِيحَيْهِمَا» بِهَذِهِ الْحُرُوفِ.

On the authority of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and with his father), from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), from his Lord, Blessed and Exalted, who said: "Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He made it clear: whoever intends a good deed and does not do it, Allah writes it down with Him as one full good deed; and if he intends it and does it, Allah writes it down with Him as ten good deeds, up to seven hundred times over, and more still. And whoever intends a bad deed and does not do it, Allah writes it down with Him as one full good deed; and if he intends it and does it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed."
