Renounce the world and Allah will love you

On the authority of Sahl ibn Sa'd as-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: “A man came to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, direct me to a deed which, if I do it, Allah will love me and people will love me.’ He said: "Renounce the world and Allah will love you; renounce what is in people's hands and people will love you."
