Every remembrance of Allah is charity

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.

On the authority of Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), that some of the Companions said to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): “O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have taken all the reward. They pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they give in charity from their surplus wealth.” He said: "Has Allah not given you things to give in charity? Every tasbih is charity, every takbir is charity, every tahmid is charity, every tahlil is charity. Enjoining what is right is charity, forbidding what is wrong is charity, and in the intimacy of one of you with his wife there is charity.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, does one of us satisfy his desire and have a reward for it?” He said: “Tell me, if he were to satisfy it unlawfully, would that not be a sin upon him? In the same way, if he satisfies it lawfully, he has a reward for it."
